Objective:

The primary goal of this role is to enhance market coverage of US biotech clients by converting initial leads into qualified opportunities. The position emphasizes initiating new client relationships, identifying key decision-makers, and supporting the early stages of the business development process.

Responsibilities

  • New Client Acquisition: Actively research and identify potential biotech clients within the US market, targeting decision-makers in R&D, procurement, and business development to generate new business opportunities.
  • Lead Generation and Qualification: Utilize CRM tools, online research, and networking to identify and qualify potential leads, converting them from raw leads to qualified opportunities, ready for the Senior BD team to pursue.
  • Inside Sales Support: Handle initial sales inquiries, provide information and support for potential clients during the early stages of engagement, and assist in preparing quotations and service proposals.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Building: Initiate and maintain early-stage relationships with new clients, scheduling meetings and facilitating introductions to the Senior BD team for further development.
  • Account Development Assistance: Support Senior BD in managing existing accounts by providing administrative and coordination support, ensuring client needs are addressed promptly.
  • Market Research: Perform detailed market and competitor analysis to identify trends and business opportunities, providing valuable insights to the Senior BD team to refine client strategies.
  • CRM and Pipeline Management: Ensure all client interactions, lead activities, and relevant data are accurately tracked and maintained in CRM systems, providing clear visibility of the sales pipeline for internal stakeholders.
  • Proposal and Presentation Support: Assist in preparing presentations, proposals, and marketing materials tailored to client needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compelling content.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, project management, and technical staff to ensure alignment in client communication and smooth delivery of client onboarding processes.
  • Event and Meeting Support: Participate in industry conferences, virtual meetings, and client visits to support networking efforts and promote Porton’s services. Assist in the preparation and follow-up for these events, ensuring potential client leads are properly engaged.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biopharmaceuticals, or a related field.
  • An overall understanding of pharmaceutical processes, regulatory requirements, and quality standards is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in business development within the CDMO industry, or relevant experience in project management or sales support in the life sciences sector.
